    10-1 is not an overbore.
239 is stock cid for later flathead V8's
Displacement after boring and/or stroking would depend on the amount of overbore or stroke.

  4. DMO: Lots of details to be discovered on this subject: '49 up Merc is 255ci. Earlier flatheads....221 ci. Carter gave you a big tip also...depends on what happens at the machine shop during rebuild. I have a book by Frank Oddo that gives lots!!! of information and there are many others. Do lots of research if you are considering building or re-building a flathead. Tim

Lots of charts on the internet that will show you what any given bore and stroke will give. Anywhere from 221 CI to 304 CI unless you do something "heroic".

  6. You missed the 239.
