Looking for some Ideas / pics for fuel lines on Flathead with 2x2 Edmonds and 2 94's with stock fuel pump. Not sure if I should use a firewall block or just rune steel / red hose line to carbs?? thanks in advance for your input

I'd go for a fuel block. It just makes sense of the whole thing. Two rubber lines coming out from a hole in the abyss just looks jury rigged. Sometimes it's just better to add a part instead of throwing in a y-connector and some fuel injection clamps to make it work.

An easy way that is very compact: Get several Ford nuts, the one that goes in carb and fuel pump. Get a couple of pieces of finished-with-fittings 1/4 brake line and a tee fitting for those. Tee goes right by rear carb; screw a brake line into the 90 degree branch of tee, cut it to length you like from tee to carb inlet, slide on Ford fitting and ferrule. Another longer piece goes forward, curves into front carb, if stock fuelpump another to there, if non-stock whatever connects to your electric pump. One more tee and more lines makes this do for a triple.

59X4 is current Weatherhead number at NAPA for the Ford nut.

#5 stainless braid over telon, double male #5 AN fittings into the carbs.

Made an extension from a piece of brass hex stock that threaded into the stock pump with two outlets.

Now, seriously. How many guys had the $$$ back in the day for polished stainless or chrome hardlines? I'mm willing to bet next to none. Yes, they look GREAT. But, Joe Blow who just got back from over seas woluld have used what was available cheap. Maybe this is why I built my car the way I did.....How it possibly would have been done by a returning military man back in the late 40's-early 50's. Just my opinion.

  11. Hey Mate,

If you like it, thats all that matters! I really dig you set up and would like to do something myself. I love the polished stainless but will be going down the clear red line myself. Love the look and will match the clear red spark leads I'm currently running.

How do I go about getting one of those fuel rails? Do you have any close up pics?

  12. They are all pics of the Vintage Speed website. You can order the pre made stainless lines or he can make the same up according to your specs.

Jdubbya just up and made that rail for me...outta the blue. Looked PERFECT when I had the Flattie. Just basic steel tube of differing sizes (with some flares added) brazed together (he's the Braze Master) and hose-clamped in place. Aren't friends grand?

I'll have to take a pic but I built my own hard line connecting the two carbs to the stock fuel pump. Looks clean.
