I don’t have any oil pressure in this Flathead 8BA. I pulled the engine and found that the gear on the end of the camshaft is spinning on the camshaft so none of the gears are spinning. Would I be okay to just tack weld the gear so it’s fixed to the cam or should I do something else. IMG_0191.JPG

    Replace it.
    Don't tack weld it.

Better disassemble and check everything if run for any length of time without oil flow.

Yea, I pulled the oil pan and looked at everything from underneath. Lots of sludge in the pan, about an inch deep. I think I’ll just clean it out good and put a new oil pump in.
I’m only using this stock engine to test drive this roadster for the first time and then I have a rebuilt flathead with a blower that’s going in.
