Mate Rons altered at the nostalgia night 22/6 in CT I haven't seen him get this one out for ages, sounds good, and looks ready for action! <object width="425" height="344"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4YsT2H_vk7s&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></object>
Hey Corey, So what is the skinny on that motor? By the way it revs im guessinga chopped/aluminium flywheel. Do you know the rest of the specs on the motor? Danny
Can't remember, I know that the car was featured in TRJ I think it was no.13 with his roadster and wifes coupe. will dig out the info tonight.
Notice the two AACA oval plaques on the firewall, this was the FIRST Drag car to ever win a Frist Junior and later a Senior award in that club. Opened the door of all the other Dry Lakes, and Drag cars. It is a spot on restoration of a 1960's car club altered that raced at Connecticut dragway.
I knew you would know about the AACA awards on the firewall Bob. I'm wondering why it's lettered as an Altered, when in the early 60's roadsters had their seperate cl*** with an "R" and coupes/sedans used the "A".
this car was featured in TRJ #11 , it details the AACA trial to get recognised too. Ron's a great bloke, very knowledgable about flatheads. I will dig up the video I have of his other car.
Here you go. <object width="425" height="344"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/I1uVznZEUxg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></object>
FlatOz, Seeing as you're building my motor, you want to make it sound like that whilst you're at it? Danny
That's a pretty early ('58-'59) Ch***is Research TE 440 that has had the original rubber biscuit front suspension updated to the more common cross spring. The cast wheels are another rare CR option which didn't sell very well and were discontinued early on.
Ronnie is on the HAMB as an occasional lurker. Next time I see him I'll let him know people want to see his stuff. He also has an Ardun powered 32 Roadster that is drool worthy
