came across a local CL ad a couple weeks ago about a ford flathead for sale. Asking price was really cheap and what really caught my attention was the magneto bolted up front, which I had never seen one like this in person. this will go in my 29 roadster but the only thing I'm trying to figure out is fan/belts configuration. Does anyone have any pics with this set up while running a mechanical fan

  2. It looks like this engine used a crank mounted fan. That works on some cars, but likely not on your '29.

Run and do not walk to go get that. That angle drive set-up is big $$$. The bronze gear is being reproduced by Don Orosco for something like $750 and the angle drive piece for $1,500.

Only way would be to run it off the crank but that generally doesn't work in a Model A.
If you get it and don't use it, I'm interested. PM me if you decided to sell.
