Should you get a new factory sheet metal lockplate or is it better to switch to lockwashers when you replace the timing gear?

Atleast its an L-head so if the gear comes loose you dont punch a hole in any pistons

I've got new lockplates in stock if you need one. They sell for $3 apiece, but it isnt worth writing up an invoice for one. I'll just mail one out to you if needed at no charge. Let me know......... Mac VP

Mac, I wondered about using bolts with the heads that are drilled for safety wire and safety wiring the bolts to prevent them from coming loose - do you have them??

I have drilled my own bolts before, but ready made ones save some "sweat!"

    Thanks.
