I have messed with flat heads on and off for 50 plus years and a visitor at my place came by and asked a question if a Isky 404 cam could be ran with Johnson flat tappets. The cam was designed to run radius tappets which are no longer avaliable. A question I could not anwser. Any input here?

Smart ass answer: "Not for very long"! However, a probably much better answer would be to check with Ron at ISKY for advice &/or solutions to the problem.

Cam grinder Pete in CA can make up a set of radius lifters for this cam. Yes, you need to use these or it will wipe out everything.
