I have a two barrel carb on my 1934 ford flathead V-8. My question is, what is the small hole on the 2 barrel gasket used for? It's located on the gasket right behind the two openings for the barrels. The bottom of my carburetor has no provision for such hole. Thanks in advance for any answers.

I know there is a good reason, but since I'm an "8BA guy", I've forgotten it. If no answer here, try "The Ford Barn".

Most carburetor kits come with extra gaskets. A Ford-Holley-and Stromberg can have the same bolt pattern. I usually have a correct carburetor gasket or needle and seat for vintage carbs if needed.

Doesn't the power valve get it's vacuum for said little hole?
