flathead crank pulley

    Can anyone tell me what size of socket / spanner fits onto the front crank bolt on the 24 stud engine / going to look at one this week end and want to be prepared without having to carry toolbox

    I'm at work without hardware to examine, but since no one has answered, here's what's in my leaky memory:

    ~'39-48 is 1 1/8 deep, or jusy maybe 1 1/16
    Earlier is I think 1 3/8. These both have the ratcher claws and need deep sockets, clearance is tight on some pulleys--Craftsman 12 point goes into mine.
    '49-53 is a plain bolt, I think 7/8"

    I just measured up three ; one was 1 1/8, one was 1 5/16, the other was 1 3/8, take a socket set tooratly
