So, I had a bad coil on a 221...being a miser and broke as a joke, I took the coil apart, crimped in to the points side, and stuck a piece of safety wire into the "hole" that the original coil lead went into.

Wired up to a 12v coil, viola, she runs...now...

I'm sure someone can tell me, what can I do to secure my "coil lead" in there?

If you've made an external coil adaper, did you tap the hole, if so, what size did you tap too?...was thinking if possible to run a bolt/stud up to hook the high tension wire too.

Did you epoxy/jb weld things in place?...etc...

Ya, I know I can spend 45 bucks and buy one, that's not what I'm asking;)

    Thanks.

I have a commercially built one that replaces the stock coil on distributor and allows use of an external couil. Must have been made in the '50s.
