Technical Flathead Distributor wiring

I have a 1940 ford and i am using a 42-48 distributor with a external coil. I need to which wire from the coil goes to the distributor. If someone could help me with the wires that go to the coil and then to the distributor that would be great. I have switched over to 12 volts and negative ground.

I just need a basic wiring diagram for the ignition.

Distributor to neg side of coil.
Pos side of coil to ballast resistor (if you're useing one)
Ign terminal on switch to ballast resistor.
This is greatly simplified, but should get you started.
