I have a basically stock flathead (80 over). With the original ditributor. I know that it has seen better days. Im lookin at the dual point Mallory sold by Speedway. Isw it worth the effort/cost. Are there other alternatives I should look at?

I put a Mallory dual point on mine for the look I wanted. After I finally got to the point of firing for the first time I was seeing a lot of flack about them being junk now that they are built in China. The worst parts were the condenser and the points. I replaced the condenser right away and got points to put in if needed. After 300 miles my points were burnt as I was told they would be. The replacement parts are available made in USA by Echlin and any NAPA store can order and have in a day. Just give them the Mallory number for the dizzy and they can cross reference the number for you. Mallory also makes an electronic dizzy but I wanted the real deal inside also! good luck
Good point. I used to only run oem mallory parts in my dual points, now I stick with the napa stuff except for the red caps, I think they are still better than some of the replacements. The old flat cap mallorys are timeless and bulletproof.
