Hi guys First at all congratulations for this great site. I'm newbie in the forum, and I'm constructing Model A hot rod with flathead engine, despite sounds easy for some of you, my problem is that I'm doing it in Spain where I live Here is the question: I'm trying to install a Flathead 8BA in a model A My problem is that the waterpumps are the ones with two screws in the bottom, no with the hole for the donut. (See the photo) I don't know how to mount it in the car and I don't find any place in the web where I can buy it Any help? Thanks in advance
You need to order a set a of 48-52 truck water pumps , or you might be able to fab some type of bracket that bolts to the water pump. https://www.bobdrake.com/Categories2.aspx?Id=4852waterpumps
I can't change water pumps because just arrived and cost to send it back and order news to high I can make brackets, but I wonder if there something in the market
Looks like it wouldnt be too hard to fab. I think these were done by Jimmy White. Ive never seen any for sale by a vendor
I went with the truck water pumps. It was easier to use these due to not having to fabricate mounts to suit the sedan water pumps. But I see your point when you have already purchased the pumps that you have. You can always re-sell them and get your money back and go with the truck water pumps if you want. They are in demand.
Like shown above, ya got car pumps not truck pumps. I did just the opposite one time. Not paying attention I picked up the wrong pumps for our 49 sedan and got truck pumps.... I'll bet ya could fab up that mount. Spain? Just finished reading "Homage to Catalonia" by Orwell about the Spanish Civil War. Very interesting. Ya got pics of the project?
