I can't seem to find some info regarding interchangeability of flatty stuff; will heads with a center water outlet work on motors originally with the front outlets? Are pretty much all the intakes the same design as well? Thanks sorry for my dumb questions -
Best bet is to go over to Fordbarn, follow the various info links and then go to the Early V8 forum with questions. http://www.fordbarn.com/earlyv8/forum03/ They even have a rod forum now.
you can put the older heads on the 8ba. You have to plug one hole and I'm not sure which one. Intakes will interchange, but I understand you need to cut the vent in the block so it can breath. As you can see I know just enough to get in trouble.
Here's a whole book on flatheads with lots of parts choice and interchange information--FREE! http://www.flatheadv8.org/rumblest/intro.htm
Actually, there are two sets of stuff on that page--start with Rumbleseat's opus at the bottom, thorough, organized, and from a knowledgable rodder who has been flogging flatheads since WWII. The techno site is good too, but has to be read with discretion as it is a hodge podge of info from different people, mostly very knowledgable but containing some garbage too.
