I did a search but didn't find what I needed. I have what I think is a 39 era generator mounted fan that is about 16 inches in diameter and has a 2 inch spacer. Looking for one that has a 1-1/2 inch spacer. I think 34 was 1 inch but not sure. Anyone have more info on these? Is the mounting area on these generators the same or did they change over the years. My generator mount has a 79 prefix.

I think all years 32-39 bolt up to the pulleys, but are different length over the years. Sorry I can't tell you which year is 1.5".

On my project I made an aluminum spacer ring to go between the pulley and fan to get it closer to the radiator. With accurate locating collars on both ends of the spacer, it fits tight. Longer bolts hold it together. Been a few thousand miles now and haven't had a problem. I have had the armature nut come loose though, and it's hard to get at that nut with the fan in the way, but whatcha gonna do? More Loc***e next time.

  3. The shortest is 1 9/16 used '37-'39. Next is the '33-'36 at 3 inches. Finally is the '32 at 4 7/16. Measurements are approximate taken with a tape measure. The fan was laid with the blades on a flat surface and the measurement is from the front of the blades to the surface where the fan bolts to the generator pulley.
