I mess with the fuel system,... found the shut off valve pretty much plugged... cleaned all that... cleaned the filter before the pump.. real dirty....put a clear filter before the carb... lots of air.... got under and made sure every thing was tight... not more air bubbles... pumped the fuel in to a gas can.... good flow....I have a china virus fuel pressure reg.... took it off and it runs better..it has a carter elect. fuel pump... but its not very high pressure, so maybe not needed??? starts right up and idles well... but when you drive it you can feel it start lay'n down about mid throttle...

Might check voltage on the primary side of the coil. Low voltage there will cause it to lay down when under a load. So will a bad points gap (dwell).

If you are using one of those small paper air cleaners try running the engine through it's paces without it. Some of the filters are very restricting and can cause similar symptoms.

    what’s the saying ?
90% of ignition problems are carb….
You don’t say anything about the carb condition or type.
If all the other fuel related stuff was blocked up , what about the carb ?
    Blown power valve ?
    Fuel starvation ? Carb ?

Damn I wish I was closer to you I’d be the first one over there helping a brother out. Surely we have a few members close to you that can help out even if they aren’t a flathead expert. What’s the worst thing that could happen, make a new friend and have a few good stories about “remember when we tried to get the old girl running and blew it up instead “:p:D
