Flathead help!!

    i have a 39 221 flatty now it has 60 over pistons in it now but the motor seems to ahve a ridge at the top. now how far can i bore with this motor and still keep it driveable.

    I know a flathead builder who swears you can go up to .100, but finding pistons gets harder and the block won't last as long (obvously) as if you keep it down to .080. "The minimal amount is the best amount unless you're building it to race" that's what he says.

    i cant even find 80 over pistons for this thing. rings yes but pistons i only found to go to 60

    One of my club members is building a 221 right now. I don't really know much about flatties,but he went .125 over and put standard 239 pistons in it.

    3 3/16 is about max on those. try early ford v8 sales in ny 518 884-2825 they should have 080 in stock
