How much HP can a stroker Flathead make? I'm talking a 60 or 80 over block with forged pistons, aftermarket rods and stroker crank. Good Alum heads and a 4 barrel intake and carb--it's for Bracket racing/ drag racing. Is 200HP doable? Or closer to 175?

In 1955 a 296 cu in flathead would dyno about 180 hp. Thirty five to 40 yrs later people like Kenny Kloth were in the vicinity of 300 with a stock bore & stroke '51 Merc, he ran a '51 Merc car in production cl*** at Bonneville and set a record around 150, it takes more than 200 hp to do that, that was around 1991-94 that I witnessed it. To go drag racing the engine needs to be reliable & consistent. There are a lot of new ideas on port work to increase flow, I suggest you search out these people for ideas. I ran a S.C.O.T. supercharged 286 cu in in my Pinto in 1978 at Bonneville, we estimated it made over 300 and it also melted the pistons at 175 mph. Sure was fun tho.

    200...

...I wouldn't say "easy" necessarily. ;) Expensive is probably more accurate. ;)
