8BA running two holley 94's with an original distributor for 8 years.
    Holleys rebuilt 5 years ago.
Noticed an idle problem at the beginning of the season that progressively has gotten worse.
    Things checked...
Checked for a vacuum leaks everywhere. Nothing.
New plugs, wires, distributor rebuilt including everything...ground and point wires, condenser points.
Installed a new battery. The power gen alternator is running at 13.5 volts
    This idle changes drastically.

Noticed a unrelated problem, just for your info, leaking head gasket blowing water vapor out of the exhaust. I just changed it this week. The water vapor has disappeared. Could not find where the gasket was leaking after removal. Looked for cracks along water inlets. Nothing. Seen a very thin crack between the right valve and the combustion chamber. The crack does not seem to go into the seat. Looks like it was there for a long time. Have not has any issues with this hole in the past. Didn't check compression.

My question... Would the carbs cause this drastic idle problem? I am getting ready to take them apart.
Your thoughts/. Driving me nuts

Number one is the easy way out. Add a quart of Sea Foam, half in the fuel and half in the oil, and take it for a long ride where it wont have to idle. If nothing changes, then tear into the carbs, paying attention to the tube up in the hole where the jets are, and all the little holes where the mixture screws go in.

    Thanks guys. Will do.
Forgot to mention I have a stock pump running. Didnt check it but looking into the bowl I seen no air bubbles. The pump is relatively new.

I had one that cranked fine but would run like crap. Did all the same stuff. Wound up being a voltage problem. Just throwing it out. Hope you figure it out.

94's have vacuum power valves.... it doesn't need much of a backfire, to damage the diaphrams.... If that happens, it runs rich...... which can give idle problems.....

What type of distributor do you run?
Are the 94's stock, or modified for the two duce set-up?
If you run a ballast, check that too!

might be sticky accelerator pumps. I might get sh*t for this but pull the caps (airhorns) and give the pumps a quick shot of wd4d and work em up and down.
Then close em up and hit the outerlinkages with some.

Rebuilt both carbs while I was looking for the problem and found one squirter nozzle plugged at the spray bars.
Runs like a finely tuned clock now good for another five years.
    Thanks for the tips.
