Hi guys......does anyone know if a 59ab intake will bolt up to an 8ba,and
is there any other modifications that would have to be done?

Im thinking of using an Eddie Meyer high rise intake on the 8ba

Also, I understand the older heads will work on the 8ba ......but there's
a few things that have to be done to the block......

    Thanks-Joe

  2. There is no problem running the 59AB manifold on an 8BA. The only thing you need to think about is crankcase ventilation - which is important. On an 8BA there is a road-draft tube that picks up on the intake . . . which you won't have a provision for on an early manifold. You'll need to account for this and not just forget about it.

I'd run some sort of PCV setup once you remove the road-draft tube setup. There are quite a few posts on this site about PCVs . . . do a search.

  3. Well said, I've been running a early intake on my late flathead for almost 4 years now (16,000 miles) and it works great, the only and big issue as stated above is crankcse ventilation, I used a old nailhead oil filler cap on my intake and also put some small mickey thompson breathers on the side on my oil pan.
