Flathead Mercury EAC 1953

Hi
Have anyone a picture of the original auto trans that was adapted on this engine (Ford 8BA or Mercury 8CM or EAC) and how is fixed the auto trans 'ford-o-matic, Merc-o-matic) on this original short flexplate?
i don't find technical drawing with this flexplate on the web or in technical motorbooks in France.

The plate shown just bolts to matching bolts on the torque converter.
What you probably need is a shop manual covering '52-3 Mercury, which is almost certainly available in reprint from the various Ford restoration parts companies.

 

Jean, I have one of them automatics that I'm not going to use. The plate you see on the motor bolt to the converter/flywheel. It a big heavy trans being all cast iron. Do you want me to send it to ya

 

My familiarity with them was very brief...I unbolted one in the junkyard a couple years ago and ran for home with the engine alone. Great trans, except for being a huge, leaky, power-****ing lump nearly as heavy as the engine...I think the junkyard was annoyed that I left the thing and they had to drag it to the s**** mountain.

 

Yep Bruce that's the one I have been tripping over and over. I got it with a motor I wanted and the trans came with the deal.
