Can anyone tell me if the motor mount pads on '48-'52 pickup water pumps (on an 8BA) are in the same relation to the engine and frame as those on a 59A? By this I mean the distance between the motor mount bolt holes, the vertical location in relation to the crankshaft, and the horizontal distance from the bell housing mounting surface to the motor mount hole. If there is a difference, do you know what it is? Thanks.

Pickups did not use the B series V8s they used the R series. Same basic engine design though. The Rs built at the Rouge Plant had the eared pump and a different oil pan. there may be some other minor differences.
To answer your question yes, 48 52 truck pumps mount the same and in the same place as pre 49 cars.
49-51 Mercurys used an eared pump with narrow belts but the mounting ear was higher on the pump.
