i just had my radiator re-cored and now i have a leak at the rear of one head. nothing was changed exept the radiator. i think its the head gasket but wonder why this would happen after getting my radiator done. any thoughts or suggestions before i tear it apart? motor always runs cool. 8ba 7lb cap.
Sure it's not a couple of head bolts. Never seen water run uphill yet. Take them out and use #2 permetex on them before you pull the head. Butch
Looks like bolt seepage. Permatex on the threads will usually stop that. Next time use hard flat washers under the bolts.
im using the same cap, 7 lbs. all the head bolts are dry. i should of put the third picture first. im pretty sure its leaking where the head and block meet, then leaking down onto manifold as seen in the first and second picture. i havent changed anything but the radiator.
if you changed the radiator because it was leaking, the new radiator is putting more pressure in your system and causing the next weak link to leak.
Another vote for the above quote. That was my first thought. There MAY be a stud or gasket problem, but if it didn't leak before, this might be correct.
alright guys, the radiator did leak, now it doesnt. im going with the thought of the head gasket at the leak point is the next weak link. i dont want to use stop leak etc. so off comes the head. ill let you guys know what i find. thanks for the help.
