I want to use my factory oil canister with a modern filter. everything I see here is old and the pics don't work. I have a 51 block with the 95% deal done. what have you guys done, that works and looks sorta stock?

I don't think the old cartridge canisters can withstand the volume of a full flow system.

I have a buddy who hid a modern remote filter mount inside one of those canisters (mostly). He cut a small window in the backside of the canister for the lines to snake through, and if you are really looking you can see it from the other side of the engine. But most people would never notice. Basically the canister is just a cover now.

  3. You'll have to read the thread by Bored and Stroked, he does what I think you're asking about hiding a spin on inside the original canister.
