    hey folks,

I was wondering where all of you guys are getting your flathead oil filters. i just changed mine yesterday, and the one i got from so-cal was JUNK compared to the fram i pulled out. I am almost hesitant to put it in the car. Also, if anyone has any leads on the BIG filter (Fram c4n) for the 337 that would also help out a lot.

OPPS, just got a big one and cut it down to the standard size, but i bought a case of filters from Oreillys, they had to order them for me, didn't seem like it was any big deal.

o'reilly's eh? i'll have to look into that. as for that other filter posted, mine is not so much tall as larger diameter and only slightly taller than the more common flathead type.

I solved that problem. I took the whole damn thing off and threw it across the yard. They don't work worth a shit anyway. Just change the oil more often.

I've been using the NAPA part number: 1010 in their "gold" line.

The local parts guys sez it's actually made for a mercedes. I figure it's an upgrade for the filter to be used in a flattie.......:D

I've been using the napa 1006 in my flathead no problems. They always have 1 or 2 in stock here.

Sounds right. Wix and Napa use the same # cause it's the same company, but napa drops the 5- prefix on all thier packages.
