I have a firewall mounted bee hive filter with copper hard lines from the block to the filter and also from the filter back to the oil pan. The lines are @10 years old and the line from the block (oil pump) to the filter started leaking at the compression nut on the engine block. I will replace the line and the fittings but wondered if I should use a flexible line rather than a hard line. My thinking is that engine vibration may have caused the fitting failure over time. I like the hard line look but could put a short rubber line from the engine block to the supply line to absorb vibration What do you flathead's think, any recommendations
Engines vibrate. Make sure you have flexible lines between the engine and any other component not mounted to the engine. Lots of coils spread the vibration over a longer area. Is that good enough? You won’t know until it fails.
thanks The line had a loop in it but it is thick wall copper tubing and not very flexible. I will install a flex line this time
Great looking set up ct1932ford but I wanted to keep the look less high tech. I ended up getting a rubber hose made at Hydraulic Hose here in Austin that will connect to the copper line I was using Thanks for all the input and suggestions
