    Guys,

I recently lowered my F1 and the Tie rod is now hitting the oil pan. I was thinking about putting a p***enger car oil pan ('49-'53) on my truck which would solve my steering problem, but i don't know is, Are the oil pump pickup the same for the trucks and the p***enger car oil pickup's?

    Thanks for the help guys.

Pretty sure pickups are in the same place. Why not drop the tie rod or use drop blocks?

Three basic combos out there...Ford p***enger is center sump and uses a different pickup than truck. Merc and pickup are similar-but-different rear sumps that seem to differ a bit on the forward slope where the tie rod meets the tin.
Merc and Pickup pickups are different...the Merc has added tin to complete the windage tray but I have never compared basic depth and location, which are at least pretty similar. I would say post your location and try to find some local nut like me who can line up pans for comparison.
I don't know F1's in great detail, but tierod runs across in front of the rear sump. On Ford p***enger '49-51, tierod runs across a small shallow area at very back, right under the oil pump body, and pickup runs forward a bit to the center sump. It would only be helpful if your tie rod is way forward on pan and could meet that shallow spot in front of sump.
