I was wondering if people could post pics of flatheads. I am looking for traditional multi carb pics. Thanks

Looks like Jim and Carol's car, blanked on their last name [IMG]. They are friends of friends (Paul Paoli, Jack Caldwell), and we see them every year at Jackson for a dinner or two. Fun little car... [IMG]

why do people use alternators on flatheads....or any pre 65 motor for that case, you can check out www.WILCAP.COM for some nice Sharp intakes and pics.

Because auto parts stores and gas stations in places like Moose Wyoming or Hope Montana don't keep generators in stock. You can almost always find a GM alternator tho. And with 12 volts getting a jump after your wife leaves the lights on is easier! (Ducking) If I always traveled in a caravan, on a trailer, or never left towing range from home, I'd probably run a 70 year old worn out rebuilt 16 times generator and be cool too.

Because you can't get them fixed either. Even the silly****ed dealership guys can't figure out those stupid computers in them. I'm sick of replacing timing belts and heads in Mitsubishi motors or CV joints & Half Shafts in Friggin Ford Taurus***** cars. And if I never see another O2 sensor it'll be too soon. [IMG]
Nope, the Chevelle is as new as I want to get. Some on here think it's a new car. [IMG]

Hey 24T,a lot of cars after the mid 50s or so were 12V generators.Hard to forget the*****ty generators on the cars I drove BITD.Different years for different makes on the changeover, but the late 50s,early 60s Buicks and Pontiacs I had were all 12V.
