I just bought a 1950 shoebox Ford. The car is all stock and is an older restoration. My question is, I would like to replace the stock carb and intake with a Edelbrock super dual intake and two Holley 2100 carbs which I have; is this to much carburetor for a stock motor?
Hey there tudor! 2x2 works just fine. Keep in mind you will have to make a few other modifications (such as moving the generator) but it is otherwise a nice swap. If you have the stock distributor, the vacuum advance will not work properly if connected to the venturi port on a 2100 because the pressure drop is now split between the two carbs. So, while you're at it, you might want to swap the dizzy out as well to something with a centrifigal advance. -Stefan
yea, it'll work fine Put a fenton intake with 2 strombergs, mallory dual point, edelbrock heads, and reds headers on a stock original 53 merc flathead. Runs real smooth, and the power increase was noticable
