OK, To some this may be a stupid question, but l Know 0 about flatheads and figured this would be the best place to start my research. I am going to build or buy a long block and want to know what the best block/model to use and what is a good price range is.
Sled, Heres what I would suggest. Read everything that you can get your hands on concerning the Ford flathead including all of the HAMB archive posts. ( you can read all day here) I'd get educated before I went too far. Prices are all over the map. Two out of three complete engines have some sort of problems. Most rebuilds are now built for a specific application with cam, pistin, displacement choices, etc. Good luck.
