Sorry to hear that about Joe. His shop on Cherry Ave. is now a motorcycle/jetski dealer. He moved to Signal Hill and I don't know if he even has the machinery anymore. I had a 59a block decked, aline-bored with steel main cap and two 4" Merc cranks off-set ground for 21A connecting rods over 25 years ago. His wife was running the shop was the last I had heard. Glad he is still with us!

  8. H AND H WILL TELL YOU WHAT THE COSTS ARE BEFORE YOU START. THEY HAVE A PRICE LIST PUBLISHED SOME PLACE. MAYBE ON THEIR WEBSITE. I THINK THEY HAVE A MAGIC WAY TO SEAL CRACKED BLOCKS. THEY DO MODEL a AND b engines too. I have never used them but i have called them and they always return the call or e-mail. A local machinist said he could not come close to H and H price for insert bearings on a Model a or b engine, The local machinist has done a lot of model a and b inserts.

Plus they have a pretty red paint for flatheads.
