My pop picked up a 29 A-V8 from a hamber last year. Engine is strong, pulls hard. No smoke out of the exhaust. One thing we have noticed is the excessive smoke coming from the breather T the front passenger side of the oil pan. Some also comes out the breather. What should we be looking at? It has a dual carb manifold on it. At times it gets kinda embarrassing.

One option would be to install a pcv system.
    Yes pics would help.
The devised air flow of a flathead goes in at the rear of the engine and exits at the front.

Smoke, or steam? Sometimes a blown head gasket (or a cracked block) will allow coolant into the crankcase or combustion chambers resulting in steam coming from the vents. See if there's any coolant in the oil or grey mayonnaise in the crankcase.

Another thing...the tin in the valley is important to oil control. You need the vertical tube at RF of valley, right over your vent, the little shields that snap onto the oil gallery, and tube around pushrod in back. Too much oil gets tossed upstairs if these baffles are gone.
