I'm all up to speed on the installation tech. But, what about gear ratios? Everything I've read says to use a V6 ******, but which ratio? There are different ones and some of the V6 ******s have the same ratios as 4cyl.

As it stands 3.78, but that could change.

How close to stock is the engine? A stocker or a hairy cammer will be better off with a low 1st gear as used in a 4 banger or smallest V6. Something in the 255-276 range with stock to decent street cam can use a higher ratio.

What clutch will you be using? I suggest the 10" in any event

yngrodder, I haven't done it yet but If I do I'm gonna use the Offy Flatty-Chevy bell with Ford linkage. They are $200 new.

emurder, I already have that info, a big thanks goes out to you and kommuter for putting that together.

timebandit, I have that as well, thanks.

286merc, It's pretty much a stocker (.010 over '37 221). I'm gonna put a two carb setup on it. Alot of the 4cyl and small V6's have 4.03 first gears with 2.37 2nd.
