flathead trans help

    i have a 48 car flathead with trans but the trans is closed drive shaft i need a open drive shaft? im useing a banjo rearend is there a converse for the trans? :cool:

    use the output shaft and tail housing from a truck open transmission

    or use the whole truck transmission and have a top shifter to go with it
     
  5. www.hotrodworks.com sells a setup. Speedway sells the same kit. If you convert to open driveline and keep the banjo with transverse spring you will also need to remount your bones and add a torque arm. Hot Rod Works site also addresses this.

    could also go the other way if using the banjo rear. just sell the one you have and get a closed drive rear. not too hard to find and everything hooks right up and works extremely well. Your banjo is ideal for the guys running the 5-spd trannies that still want the banjo rear. I'm sure you could find someone to swap you even for it.
