Hot Rods Flathead water neck

Looking for 1 3/4 water necks for my 49 Ford flathead V8 all I could find is Honest Charlie and I think he is way over priced at $80.00 with shipping for two.

 

Make your own out of a couple of short pieces of 1 1/4 hose. We did it all the time back in the day.

 

Are you talking about the thermostat housings? I just bought a pair from Speedway, 19.99 each and they were polished aluminum, made by Offenhouser. Nice quality, guess you could paint them if you wanted to look stock.

Don't think you will find a 1-3/4...

 

But I did find 1 3/4 water necks I asked if anybody knows of any place else sells them for less than Honest Charlie.

 

Sorry, didn't catch the 1 3/4. Stock ones or the Speedway ones are what, 1 1/4? Curious, why such big necks?

 

Most likely to run an 8BA in an earlier car with the larger top radiator inlets.

 

More water cooler motor.

 

I got mine from Just32/Model Engineering. Drake has them back in stock as well but the ones I got for the 8ba in my '39 p/u from Model Engineering were cheaper and shipping was cheaper as well.

 

Bob Drake just got a new shipment. We got ours last week. Bite the bullet, they solve the problem.

 

Flathead Jack shows them for 8BA style straight up. 52.00 Each. More pricey than Charlie's though, but good quality. That's where I got mine. They are polished aluminum. I media blasted them to look more like my heads, which are also media blasted with the ribs polished.
