flathead water pumps from speedway

    are they really that good? do they keep the motor that much cooler than stock? anyone check temps before and after?

    I know they have the later impeller design, but their benefit is really in the bearings & seals. They use roller bearings like the truck pumps & ceramic seals - fewer leaks. Don't know that they cool that much better, but if you're buying new pumps, you won't find the old-tech pumps much cheaper...

    To add to Ernie's observations, they're the only pumps you can use if you are using early pumps on a late (8BA) block as they have sealed bearings and the 8BA blocks have no provisions for oil supply to the bushing-fitted stock early pumps. Regards, Dave

    they are worth every cent ! I have had a pair on my coupe , for 15 years with no leaks .
