You need to post some more info.

What carb or carbs are you using? What intake, and what exhaust manifolds?

You can also always get great info from www.fordbarn.com if it's stock.

Have you checked to see if it's connected to the air conditioner?.

thats ridiculous, and hilarious, is the engine running? Its cold as in colder than outside temperature?

  6. ..ignition problem, one or more spark plugs that doesn't work ...is the engine running smoothly...
...cold when you started it (yes)...still cold after running 30 minutes ... [IMG] ...

  7. Still got the spring loaded exhaust block-off-butterfly thingy in the exhaust system? (For the life of me I can't remember the correct name for it, but it was used to divert exhaust to the intake crossover during warmup.)
It was very common for these gadgets to stick open, partially open or darned near closed up.
It was probably removed during the dual exhaust install, but perhaps not.
A long shot, but maybe.... [IMG]

A couple things--is much exhaust definitely coming through there? You might have a mouse nest in one pipe and all your flow going through the manifold heater and out the other side!
Check plugs--anything strange going on combustion wise? Any oddly clean plugs? If exhaust is flowing, does it seem moister than other side? Is bad side pipe real clean or real dirty compared to other??

Technical name is an early fuel evaporation valve, EFE for short. But the heat grid under 80s GM cars like the 2.8 V6, is also called an efe (grid)
When the flatty was made they probably called it a heat crossover butterfly or something similiar.

  11. Don Haring is right...it's a hear-riser and it sounds like yours is siezed shut. Some PB blaster and some GENTLE tapping with a small hammer should un-stick it. Don't rush it or you'll break it. Let it soak overnight if it won't unstick with gentle persuasion.
