My 41 sedan usually fires right up. Last Saturday I went to crank it, and it wouldn’t fire. I had run it only a week before with no issues. Looking under the hood, there was a lot of moisture. I sprayed WD-40 under the cap and wiped it down. Still nothing. I checked the coil spark and it was good. I swapped out the distributor(pancake) and it fired right up. I drove it around for awhile, and it sat at Mom’s house for about an hour while I visited with her. I went to leave and it wouldn’t fire! I finally got it to fire up, and drove it home. After I pulled it in the garage, I shut it off, then turned the switch back on and tried to crank it. No fire!!! Today, I tried to crank it. Nothing. I adjusted the vacuum screw out a good bit, and it fired up. I let it run for about 10 minutes, then shut it off. I turned the switch back on and it fired off and started easily! Problem solved - right? Nope. I turned it off again, turned the switch back on, and it refused to fire! Please help!!! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Check voltage when it won't fire. I had a column switch that sometimes did not make a good connection. I bought a new contact for the switch and it works perfectly. Start with the basics. You might even have a loose wire somewhere.
