With the 2 terminal solinode it doesn,t go thur switch to start, just would stop when key was let go.Good you got it going.
Had a tech at the dealership I worked at scratching his head couldn't find an intermitant ignition problem, truck wouldn't start, truck would cut off going down the road, truck would die after starting from a light would die in mid turn or going over bumps. It was and older truck that had nearly 200 K miles on it that was in otherwise good condition and when it ran, ran well. Tech was scratching his head as he could not duplicate the situation. I just happened to be in the cashiers office when the guy picked up the truck. He was unhappy that there was no fix but he was happy there was no charge because there was no fix. Cashier gave him his paper work with the key stapled to it, he removed the key, then pulled a key ring/s out of his pocket with about 40 or more keys, a couple flashlights can openers and a leather man dangling, and clips the truck key to it. I followed him out, and asked him if that weight was always hanging from the ign lock, he said since he bought the truck. I said just for the sake of argument, pull the key off the ring and drive it around for a while then come back and let us know how its been behaving. He came back about two weeks later and reported that in that time the truck had only cut out on him once, when he went over a rough 3 track rail crossing. I had also discussed with the tech. So he called me over when the guy came back, and noted his problem was almost gone. He decided to get a new ign lock installed, and he also decided to put his truck and house keys on one ring and his work and "other Keys and stuff" on a seperate one. Guess ing locks only have a certain tolerance for 5 lbs of stuff hanging, swinging and bouncing off them.
