Historic Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb hosted a cl*** of ‘Flathead Eights’ over last weekend, Since 1905 cars have been climbing the hill at Shelsley, little has changed over the years with the exception of tarmac and some safety barriers. Suffice to say the English summer did it’s usual and heavy rain was had overnight making Sundays runs just that bit more exciting. As with all things………. what goes up………..…must come down….. Cars ascend the hill in ‘batches’ as there is no return road once a ‘batch’ is complete the racing is stopped and the cars return down the hill to the paddock. . .
Cool pics Keith. There's a race track about 40 mile from me that hosts a historical race meeting once a year ( in 3 weeks time ) that attracks quite a few flathead specials. It's pretty cool watching ( and listening to ) them racing around a touring car track...........................................David
Thanx for posting... these cars are so cool, not to mention these kinds of events. The Batten, Grenfell and Bellamy Specials certainly are lookers, eh? Gary

Crazy how the our Europe friends seem to "get" the traditional car much more than a lot of us on this side of the ocean.
The unicoi hill climb was two weeks ago. All pre 34 4 bangers though. It's on a Friday and I always get screwed on going
