Ok guys, I recently pulled my 99a apart and it had the old style 32-34 flywheel/clutch setup(thanks for the ID Bruce). I'm looking for an alum. flywheel for this engine. The usual places list alum. flywheels with steel insert as fitting 38-53, but I know early and late are different. Wilcap lists one for the right year, but drilled 10 or 11". I would like to run a 9" in my roadster when it goes back together. Thanks for your help.

I don't have a catalog here, but I think that Speedway, your obvious reference, has finally admitted that one wheel doesn't fit '32-53...check a recent catalog. Also, troll through the HAMB want ads, I have found good flywheels there.

Thank you Bruce.i just did a quicky search. looked through the want ads and saw I missed a few last fall, so I'll keep my eyes open. I'm still a ways away from needing a clutch as machinist just left message this a. m. no cracks found,
    I'm happy...

I just got a new Speedway catalog in the mail yesterday.

They show 2 wheels in steel, 32 - 48 and 49 - 53. Both are drilled for 10" & 10 1/2" Long style and also 10 1/2 diaphragm type. Their aluminum wheel says 49 - 53 only and the same clutches.

Yep...checked that too! Pretty sure the '49-53 aluminum one is the same that they advertised for years as '32-48, which must have trapped a few hotrodders...

That's kind of what I thought. I'll keep my eyes open on here, it looks like they show up from time to time. Here's a pic of the ol' beast when I got it-
