What do you Guys and Gals think about my Friend's Flathead so far?

 

Looks sharp.

Does it run?

 

Looks like something Ill never afford.

 

I think it's a load of junk - send it to me & I'll dispose of it for your friend. Tell him to quit wasting his time - I've got a nice SBC to trade.

The motor has not been started yet, but it has been gone thru and will run...he still has more paint work and fab to do to it It will be going in an OG Steel 32 Five Window Coupe.

 

Great and expensive looking flathead for sure.

 

Is that a Vertex magneto, or the Taylor solid state unit that's a look-a-like? I would really like to put the look-a-like on my Hiboy, but I'm a firm believer in a combination of mechanical and vacuum advance ignition on a street car.
And so far Taylor doesn't make one with mech and Vac adv. just mech.

What bore/stroke combo did he use?
Also, what sort of carb linkage is planned for that 4 x 2 ? I'd imagine some sort of progressive.
