it can, but the build up on flake is huge. you'll have a hell of an edge on your scallops

    #1 compared to #2?

No contest. Check out the at***ude on #2.

Copy that photoshop down to a "T". It's what that car needs. It's begging for it. Please save it from the mundane existence of #1!

Just metallic, not heavy flake on the scallops, maybe?

I see three different style/shapes of scallops there.
And they are all fighting each other, especially the one on the lower fender with that hard pointed diagonal fighting with the more curved other two that don't repeat that diagonal.
    Pick one style.
    No, it isn't easy...
The wheel opening with a diagonal like that on that car isn't the best resolution relative to the rest of the car.
You don't have to accentuate it.

Or just lower it and shoot something like a Red pearl over the Black and let that pick up the natural "scallops" that light reflects off the body shapes.

    Nice car by the way,
I always dreamed of having a nice '49 -'52 fleetline but one never came my way except when the money for it was somewhere else.

I think the changes would look great! Just lowering it and adding the wheels and tires would be enough but the scallops would really set it off.I'd like to something like that to mine someday.......

It's a nice car the way it is, I say just lower it and drive the heck out of it. Looks very cl***y. Scallops are everywhere, cl***y is not.

car looks nice. im a huge fan of scallops, and the 2 sets on the front kind of fight each other. now if i had photoshop, then i could show what im thinking. the tips should go at an angle, kind of to make the car look like its moving when its not. the rear one is a little too much also. ill see what i can do it paint. you can probably do better with photoshop, but i think you could get the idea.

ok, heres a rough out. i was looking at the rear scallop and think it would look a little better with the rear scallop has a longer one on the bottom. mess around with the this idea. also. if you want silver scallops, do with just a plain silver with added aluminum flake. it wont getas much build and it will look just as good.

Cool thanks guys, I know there was something off about the scallops, I appreciate the advice. Do you have any pics hanging around that show how they should be done?

you must remember your scallops will be on a real 3-d car. not a flat drawing. the fender scallops would look odd in the position you have there.

take a 3/4 front view from up on a ladder, or just hold the camera above your head and take pictures until you get the whole car in.

then draw your scallops. this way will give you a better real life perspective of how they'd look.

I'd just leave it... lower it 3" and call it a day. looks like a nice car

if I were going to scallop it I'd make them much thinner than what you have there, with a more rounded look at the fronts. I'd prolly go with a purple scallop..... silver and black.. that's too Oakland Raiders for me.

just go and spend a couple bucks on fineline tape. like 1/8''. just mess around with it until you get something you like. take pictures of each set. then sit down with them and pic which one you like the best. justremember paint is harder to remove than tape.

Thanks JohnnyG! Looks much better with the tips lining up on the diagonal much more like a cohesive design than individual scallops.
