A little. The runners are some old bent bumper I found and cut in half. Very slicker on the bottom. It needs a plate welded on vertically to create some side pressure in the corners.
Cool beans ,real useful project and family fun ! Bill aka Tnomoldw '' I wanna go where the lights are low where I can go'n spend my dough an dance with the dolly with the wooden leg''
I would suggest welding a 1/4 inch round stock to the full length center of each runner. Bill aka Tnomoldw
Jay - you've got the weekend to perfect the skis before the next big snow hits on Monday!! Here's a thought - an "edge" running lengthways down the bottom center of the skis. It gives them a way to grip the snow when turning. Maybe some 1/4" round stock?
If you wish the make them bolt on might be a good idea too. weld bolts to the round stock ,drill holes in the runner, nuts and washers on inside. Just like a Snowmobile,,, Bill aka Tnomoldw
