Man...you don't want to be sitting inside a car welding Galvanized steel!
You'll kill yourself with the fumes you create.
    Seriously BAD stuff!!!!

    Oh Heeeeell Naw.

we use 14 guage cold rolled, bead roll it, and fully perimeter weld it, and even then sometimes I don't feel great about it.

just imagine a peice of 22 guage with you bolted to it coming to an abrupt halt. then picture that abrupt halt coming at 65 miles per hour.

Yeah. re-pops, or do it as right as you can get it.

Just finished the floors in my shoebox. We used 18 ga. cold rolled sheet and ran X beads in each panel piece. Made everything nice and rigid. I wouldn't recommend anything less than 18ga. Good luck, Flatheaded

  8. haha, Sounds good I figured 22g was to thin, Ill try something a bit stronger as far as Welding Galvinized I worked a a Welder-Fitter up in big D and thats all we welded on was Galv. Square tubing, I heard that shit was no good.

I used 16g and since I didnt have a way to bead roll anything, actually used 1/4" steel rod to create a framework the I could cut and measure the pieces. After tack welding everything I went back and finshed it. It something didnt look right I could cut the tack and move it or grind it. You don't see any of the framwork as it is on the underside, but it helps strengthen and makes it soo much easier if you have a lot of shapes.

too thin... the floor metal is 16g... there is a place is Ohio that makes the floor pans for most older rigs... I purchased 4 for my 50 Chev and it was cheaper by 1/2 than Chev's of the 40s or fillingstation
