What would be a good size for the thickness for tubing used in a floor structure?
I would love to just go with rolled sheetmetal but no roller and budget is too tight. Have access to lots of free square tubing its about 1x1 and probably 18 or 20 gauge. Is that enough? Then I have some 16 gauge flat sheets that I got for free to go over top.
    Opinions?
    thanks

Ive done the same thing before with 1x1 like that. The only place i saw some flex was where the back of the seat was on the floor. Not much, but this area gets the most downward force. Not bad really, just noticeable.

Thanks for the reply. Guess I should have put "OSR", "Maltese cross", "Boyd" or something of the like in the title to draw more attention

I used 1X1X1/8" and 1X2X1/8" Tube for this cab. The driveshaft tunnel is about 18ga. rolled with flanges on the bottom that the floor is weled to. The floor is heavy ga. with bead rolled into it. The thing is very strong, no "oil canning"
