So I live in Clearwater(Tampa area) and I want to put together a list of a bunch of shows that are close by....2to3 hours drive at most! Can anyone help me here? I would love to prove myself wrong that there isnt **** to do like when I was in Cali. and you have( or get ) to pick and choose your shows cause there are so many available!!!!! Why dont we have that here? And how can we get that started if not? I want to be able to look at more pics from Fla. than just TRRun and Rumblers shows(which I love both of thanks guys who put those on!) I dont want to sound greedy but..... I WANT MORE!!!!!!! Is that such a bad thing? P.S Dont talk about cruise nights at Burger king and **** those just **** anyhow...most the old guys dont even want to talk to us young guys when there all grouped up in loungers next to there clean, quiet, wy wife needs the a/c in this car anyhow! I try I realy do but I come in loud with headers and lakes, bagged and taildraggin and thats just enough to piss them off cause I interupted some dumb story there all into in there little huddle up...then I park, get out and BAM!!! Im 32 years old and the youngest there by 30 years and they look at me like hey can you put a lid on that noise? Im not even sure where Im going with this now but I had to vent somehow so sorry it had to be you guys! Thanks. And I love this site for all it does for my inspiration with cars....its a way of life not a job!

    Hi Randy.

Yes, Turkey Rod run is great. Nothing like thousands of rods at the Daytona track.

hotrodwalt put on a weekender show a couple of years ago that was a "traditional" oriented show. Streetrod Nats are pre-48, and a mix of traditional, drivers, show cars, and abominations.

Lake Mirror is everything from muscle cars, to hot rods, to dusenbergs, packards, etc.

All the other shows are basically open shows as well....but all it takes is a few cool cars to be worth going, and talking to like-minded people.

Get a copy of "THE CRUISE NEWS"... It lists all the car shows and cruise nights in FL and the southeast.

    Cfish,
Other than the Rumblers show that Nads put's on in Orlando, I'm not aware of any others like it. I'd go to one like theirs as often as I could. Everything else I've seen around is the same old Street-Rod parking lot shows.
Florida is just not organized in my opinion when it comes to any 'Traditional-Hot Rod-Rat Rod - Old School .......you name it what you want- types of gigs.

We need to first: Find the guys and girls that have cars, trucks and customs of the HAMB influence here. Then, and only then can you try to get them together and a couple of bands and have a good time.

It would be great to have a BilletProof or Primer Nationals here.

I'd really like to do a Show and Drag, in Orlando, weekend before PRI show at convention center. Working on details now as far as track availablity and such. May be too late to do something even in December.
The Dragway 42 show, in Ohio , is what I'm talkin' bout'! PM me with some ideas and I'll add you to my buddy list and stay in touch. At least one of the Rumblers said it was a good idea, others may follow. Maybe we can meet at Webster and talk about it over a cold one.

Old Town CAN be OK, but make sure you got an interior, they almost wouldn't let NADS in last year, with his 53' Kustom. I really hate those gay little dolls with their head burried in the grill. The cars are cool, and some fun stuff to do, greasy food and the like. They even let you walk around with open containers, as long as it's in a cozy. Roller coaster guarenteed to make your girl hold on for life.

I think I built the coolest thing in the US 4 years ago! So I was told! That felt good to hear that from all the west coasters......but here at every show they didnt have a cl*** for it other than custom so I never won a thing trophy? I would actualy get beatin by a yellow ****py POS everytime cause he was stock? We became friends and laughed every time at trophy hour....He might have put 1500.00 bucks into this car while I had over 12k and getting nothing? All you can do is laugh cause no one here had seen a custom THING before.......So shortly after I went American Customs only!!! Never looked back!!! Thank god! And I DONT want this to turn into a VW Thread so lets get back on topic after this!

[IMG][IMG]I got like zero experience puttin one of these things on,but yes it needs
to happen and happen BIG. I see all these events going on next door to my
work and keep thinking it would be perfect for a traditional get together.
From the Mustang & Mustang gig (that has grown larger every year) to
some varied concerts ( Lynyrd Skynyrd,Meatloaf,Joan Jett, David Lee Roth,
Poison and a couple others at one show.( kinda weird but interesting at the
same time) Pyro shows that stop traffic on I-4 in both directions(and thats
over a mile away) Any way a smaller start could grow into a major event.
Located halfway between Tampa and Orlando and central for the state.

Damn fish dude, that's a sweet Chebby, mang.

Old Town ****s, they have somehow managed to distill
the true spirit of hot rodding into the Muzak version.

The place is the worst, I don't even understand the idea
anymore and I don't care if anyone from there reads this
and thinks I'm an even bigger ***hole than before.

Mike Kelley's a great guy, but some of those old ****s that
park the cars really have no idea about what it takes to make
a cool, tasteful car, but if you've got some turd with 8 continental
kits, neon underneath, spinning K-Mart hubcaps and '76 Camaro
    mirrors you're in like Flint.

    That place ****s.

You know what boys there is a meet in Ft. Pierce by a guy, but it's invite only as far as I know. That is to put your car to show. It's put together by Black Dog Garage its all traditional rods. I'll find out dates but I'm sure if you ask around you'll find out.
