get in touch with nads..he knows all the rite people....also mike ((cant remember his hamb 0)) name, he has a shop in orlando
c'mon nads, you're the 3rd biggest attraction in orlando, right after gatorland and the holy land theme park...
He used to 4th. But then they closed down the mini Great Wall of China park. We have traditional titty bars here in Tampa.
Sounds like an opportunity... Hmmmm... Billetproof Speed and Chrome Shop Florida... has a nice ring to it
It'll work as long as you sell 350/350 combos and all the billet doodads you ever want. Just lose the proof part and your in buisness. See you at the drags
man it sucks for hot rods down here, but if you're really lucky you can come across a true east coast survivor, complete w/ pastel paint and heartbeat stripes and maybe it it will still have the tpi 350 under the hood (hope, hope)
Back in the (semi)-old days of the HAMB, there was a joke about all the cars in Florida having Chrome Smoothies on them....and to an extent...there were a lot of them, but no more than anywhere else really. Same as the joke about Floridians building "wierd" cars. So everytime a goofy car was on Ebay, if it was in Fl, it was a big joke...if it was somewhere else, it was "that must have been built in Florida!" I even have chrome "smoothies" on one of my cars....I didn't want to wait over a month for chrome reverse, and the chrome "gennies" looked about the same to me with the cone center caps I wanted, so I bought them. I like them just fine. My car has been in a couple of magazines with these wheels, so they're not holding me back!
If you don't own a mountain bike ,then your not cool to hang with in Mikes mind these days. Who knows maybe he's a speed walker these days.
i'm gonna be in pensacola the week of aug-16, and while i'd much rather be in orlando, i'm open for suggestions in the area. i might even visit some local garages, if i get an ivitation...
been twenty years since i was in O working out of Lockhart for a family owned parts store and at that time we had a customer we called Big Ron that had a shop crammed full of old Fords, flathead stuff.... he literally fit the bill, he was a big MF'er with black hair and a beard (looked like a movie pirate) and he knew his shit. never had much time to talk with him and really never got his last name. Orlando itself had a bunch of little shops then, lots of used car lots with some really neat shit "out back". Lockhart, Mt Dora, that area. long time gone maybe.
Oh it's here, lots of old barns full of cool shit. I just found out about two model A's in my small town tucked away. You guessed it, not for sale.
