Here's one... I am not planning on running the heater lines on My '56 Eldorado... Anyone know if there will be any problems by just plugging the heater outlet? In my mind, I am thinking of possible eddy currents being generated, causing flow problems (due to water pump shape not being designed for having a "dead end" in that area...) I already plugged it, but am thinking I might want to run a cross-over hose from the outlet to the inlet instead (will look even more like shit though)... M-
It has a inline valve in the hose circuit doesn't/didn't it? Most of them are/were vacuum operated and only closed on the Max air position but still they do close and the engine operates ok, so I'd think it wouldn't harm to block off the hose bibs all together.
Doc, not that I know of (basket case car), but now that I think of it, most do... I guess that would answer that... Thanks!
i plugged the one in clarence over ten years ago and so far (who knows how many miles???) nothing bad has happened. this is a sbc, fwiw.
DO NOT RUN A LOOP BETWEEN THE 2 HEATER LINES. THis short circuits the cooling system and your car will overheat/run hot. I speak from personally experience on this, i fried a brand new 350 due to this. Block em off, it wont do anything, most cars have valves on them from the factory.
