Has anyone put flush door handles from a late model car in a 48 Ford
I am going to do the smooth look to my 48, no trim, or no door handles sticking out. I thought of solenoid door releases but I think a flush door handle from a late model car is more practical. What type of hamdle would work in this case? I made a template of the 48 door
and checked it on some late models, the 48 Ford has the same door profile where the handle goes as a 99-03 Grand Am. My plan is to take a piece slightly larger than the Grand Am handle and graft it into the 48 Door. I would like to hear from anyone that has done something the same. Dave

Wrong forum for that kind of build.

IMO..... the best door handles for a '48 Ford came from a 1948 Ford. The OE handles are best in my book.

Don't take this as a slam to your build. Just be aware thatthis board is for traditional type builds and fans of those builds. Late model door handles don't fit in that category. Still tons to learn here so please look around. I've learned a lot. When I start swinging my wreches and start ruining sheetmetal with a welder I'll be a little further ahead.

  3. I don't think you are going to get any positive responces to this.....you are on a traditional web site NOT a smoothie web site.

    Good luck!
